THE COURSE

The pattern maker works within companies that deal with the production of clothing. His is a strategic figure, as he is unique in knowing how to realize the models created by the stylist through the transformation of the fashion sketch into a paper model. He then takes care of developing the pattern, from the design phase to the realization phase, following as faithfully as possible the interpretative line adopted by the stylist, respecting the proportions and style of the sketch. The model maker must therefore possess fundamental requisites, such as creative and technical skills, but above all organizational and interpretative skills. He must know anatomy, show precision and meticulousness. He is the mediator between the various figures involved: he interprets the idea of the stylist-designer and guarantees the wearability of the garment, thanks to the sartorial skills acquired to be able to pack the test cloths, in order to safeguard the economy of the company. He must also supervise the design of the prototype to ensure its industrial reproduction and once the collection is completed, arrange for the development of sizes.
